Similar to the western baby shower, the Vietnamese Baby Blessing is a shower which takes place a month after the child is born verses the month before. During this colorful (7 colors are used for a boy and 9 colors for a girl) ceremony, the child gets his/her name given, and is also blessed from the gods and ancestors to look over her/him. After the ceremony, families and friends are asked to come over for a celebration. Audrey celebrated this monumental day with mom and dad.
