Picture Day with my playgroup....the Piglets

Today is the last Monday of the month and mom always tries to take some pictures of all my little fellow piglets in the group. A few of them are away on vacation, and some can't make it. But for those who were here today, we really had a lot of fun. I was able to share with my little buddies my Auntie Hong's little puppy. I have never seen my little friends smile so much before. They were so cute, even Mr. Kodak would be jealous. We were camera happy today, so there are lots of pictures. Check out the series of pictures and see the comments below them. Everyone had a lot of fun today, including me. Thanks for coming and I look forward to our next get together, next Monday.

Getting Creative!

Sleeping Beauties...

Image
Sunday was a long day. Nothing like ending the day with a beauty rest. Everyone says I look like daddy, and that I am such a "handsome" girl. Well I think my daddy is a "beautiful" boy.

Cactus Show and Grandparent Visits

Today was a busy day. The day started nice and early with Grandma and Grandpa Mesic as we head out to the Cactus nursery and San Gabriel Nursery where mom bought a Yuzu tree. We then went to the Cactus show at Huntington Garden, there were some beautiful cactus there, then on to dim sum in Alhambra. There was a big surprise waiting for me at home. Grandpa/ma Nguyen are visiting from San Diego along with Auntie Linda and Aunt Hong brought up her puppy. Boy I had a blast chasing the puppy around, it was so fun.

Visit from Uncle Tony

This morning we decided to sleep in so no swim class. Dad later took me to the park where we played on the swings, I came home to a surprise visitor. My uncle Tony stopped by from San Diego with his friends for a visit. Here are a few Kodak moments with my uncle Tony.

Audrey and the puppy

This afternoon, auntie Hong brought her little puppy by and I was so happy. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it. All I wanted to do was grab her, kiss her, and squeeze her, but everyone kept on saying "gentle Audrey, gentle". I can't wait till the puppy visits again. Compared to Balu this one is a third my size, yipppeeee...be on the lookout for videos of me playing with the puppy.

Videos of The Puppy and Me

There are four little videos to this series, don't forget to catch them all. If you are having problem viewing it, please go to Youtube.com and search AudreyKhue and you should be able to see all my videos. Part 1 of 4 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

First Day of Class

Today was the first day of my Mommy & Me class on Thursdays at South Bay College. Class started at 9:30am and was over by noon. I really enjoyed going to class, play with all the toys, singing, and cooing with other babies. Mom noticed I really enjoyed it and went on to sign me up for two classes in the fall that goes from September till June of the following year. I look forward to meeting all my classmates and going to school regularly this fall. Yeah.... In the afternoon we went to the Playa Vista Sports Club where mom had a monthly meeting with her MOMs Club, and I get to play on the swing. It was so much fun.

Swimming Videos

Auntie Hong came with us to swim class today and got a video of my favorite thing in swim class, chasing the ducks.

The Process of Selecting a Business Plan

Part of my dad's job is to review a bunch of business plans to see if they're worth funding. I want to show you a little bit of the "behind the scene" to how these things are selected.

Piglets: Del Rey Music Together

Thanks to aunt RIMLINGER we had so much fun today. At playgroup, we had Del Rey Music Together come by and do a 45 minute music class demo. Me and my piglet posse banged, clinged, clanged, and made so many different sounds. All the mommies sang, danced, and played games with us.

Date with Daddy

Image
It was so hot today! Dad, Mom, aunt Julie and I went to Santa Monica; where Mom had brunch at the Omelette Parlor with her mommy friends, Dad had his hair cut and aunt Julie took me for a stroll. Later on in the evening, mom took me to a poker tournament over at my playmate, Parker's house. I had fun watching everyone play, and they all were so nice. Mom took second place, go mom...well that was because she had her lucky charm, little me :)!

HAPPY 65th BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Grandma, Happy Birthday to you! Today is my Grandma's 65th Birthday, doesn't she look good? You can't even tell she is that old. My day started at Grandma's office and end with Grandma's Birthday dinner at W's Chinese Bistro. My day began when Mom and I went to surprise Grandma at her office in Palos Verdes with a balloon bouquet and an orchid plant. I wore my pink polka-dot party dress because Grandma likes pink and mom helped tied the balloon bouquet to my wrist. Grandma was so happy and smiley when she saw me, I am glad I was able to make it there to celebrate Grandma's special day with her. I also made it just in time to help Grandma blow out her birthday candles. It was so much fun to see everyone, even Grandpa was there.

Playing at the Water Fountain

While waiting for Grandma to get off work, mom and I went strolling at the nearby mall. It was so hot that after spotting a water fountain, mom changed my clothes and let me play in the fountain with all the big kids. It was so fun, and I was soaked. Sometimes I would look in the hole and wonder where the water went and on a couple of occasions, it sprayed me right in the face and up my nose...ummm I may have taken a few gulps of water. Later on both Grandpa and Grandma came by to watch me.

Visiting Dad's Office

Image
Every Wednesday I have a very similar routine. It starts out with swim class around 10:45am, followed by Farmers Market at Noon with several of my 'little piglet' friends, then we all go to lunch overlooking the ocean, and on to the Santa Monica public library for some reading. On days when my little piglet friends can't make it, I go and visit dad's office above farmer's market and play with him. If Dad is not too busy, we go to lunch, take a walk, or I would visit Grandpa at Rand. The day always end with mom and I hanging out at the public library before heading back, well actually sometime mom meets up for what they call "happy hours". I guess everyone who goes is suppose to act very happy, well I try to be happy so mom will take me along. This Wednesday I got all dressed up for a date with dad. I waited for dad in his office while mom uses the computer. But after waiting for a while I realized that Dad is working in Canada this week, guess that means

Swim Class

Image
I go to swim class twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Santa Monica. Class usually starts with 30 minutes of gym, music, and play followed by 30 minutes of swim and activities. This week my auntie Julie took me swimming. Though I drank a little more water than normal, I had a lot of fun. My favorite activity in the pool is when the instructor lets us swim after the little duckies. This week I caught two ducks, one with each hand...oh and I also like doing the itsy bitsy spider and tick tock game in the pool. Though I am not crazy about being dunk, it scares me. The instructor this week ask parents to push us to swim toward her. I am so happy that mom signaled Auntie Julie not to do it, or I would have left the pool in tears. I will post a couple of swim videos shortly.

Nguyen Grandparents Visiting

It's a big day today, I get to celebrate Father's day with mom, dad, and my Nguyen grandparents (Ong Ba Ngoai). It is so nice of them to drive up all the way from San Diego. Mom made fresh noodle soup for breakfast and yummy baby pork ribs for lunch. We went to the Santa Monica Pier to hang out and took some pictures to commemorate the day.

HAPPY DADDY'S DAY!!!

Image
For Father's Day this year, I got daddy a CHUMBY (www.chumby.com) which I really hope he likes. Since mom likes to cook and dad likes to eat, I put together a recipe olde for dad along with a giraffe card. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADDY, I LOVE YOU!! World’s Best Daddy Recipe Directions: I am told it’s you that I take after, Thus add two cups of pure affection, A moment of nonstop laughter, And a handful of kisses in all directions. A little fresh drool, just a squiggle. A few sprinkles of gentleness, Two ounces of nonstop giggles, And a pint of forgiveness. Roast it for a short while, After five minutes of sweet fun Add a pound of smiles, Mix in a little cuddle till it’s done. But wait, you still have to add, Two cups of unexpected surprises, And many loving moments with dad. Stir it up, bake it well, and let it rise. Mom says, this is a secret recipe, For the world’s best daddy. If I promise to be obedient, Will you be my main ingredient? by Audrey Gia-Khue Mesic 6/15/2008 ----

Father's Day with other Piglets

These are some of my little piglet friends that come to the house every Monday to hang out. In honor of Father's Day this week, mom decided to have it at the local park so everyone can enjoy themselves and we get to meet all the daddies. I had so much fun with my little friends, we laughed, napped, play balls, wrestle, swing, and babble.

My 6 Month Portraits

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE SCOTT! Every couple of months mom and dad try to capture a few portraits of me and the family. This is me at six months.

Auntie Linda and Uncle Tony's Birthday

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Auntie Linda and Uncle Tony, Happy Birthday to you. Today is my aunt and uncle's Birthday. Can you believe they have the same birthday? Uncle Tony and Auntie Linda invited their friends to La Jolla Shore for a BBQ along with the family. We had a lot of food, sun, and drinks. I spent the day on my lawn chair getting some sun, and mom took me down to the ocean water for the very first time. I dipped my feet in the sand and water as mom and I watch the waves moved in and out. The water was really cold.

My Piglet Posse

My little friends came over today for our weekly playgroup. Since we were not able to take our monthly pictures last week, it was taken this week. Check out how much we've changed and grown.
